About the event

This is your opportunity to get involved in an activity that will benefit you. Best of all, you do not need to have played tennis or any other sport. Pickleball is a relatively easy sport, making it accessible for seniors of all skill levels. Staying active and challenging oneself without feeling overwhelmed or discouraged can be fun. We run another Pickleball session for the seasoned players every Tuesday, but this is for beginners. So, there is nothing to lose; give it a try, and you will be pleasantly surprised how much fun it is.

Other benefits of Pickleball are:

  • Pickleball is a low-impact sport, which means it is easier on the joints and less likely to cause injuries compared to high-impact sports like basketball or tennis. This makes it ideal for seniors with joint issues or other health concerns.
  • Pickleball is a great way for seniors to stay active and improve their fitness levels. It can help improve cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and balance, essential for overall well-being as we age.
  • Playing pickleball requires focus, strategy, and quick thinking, which can help improve cognitive function and brain health in seniors. It can help sharpen reflexes, memory, and decision-making skills.
  • Pickleball is a social sport that encourages interactions with others, making it an excellent way for seniors to stay connected and make new friends. It can help prevent isolation and improve mental well-being.

AAH will supply new bats and balls; this one-and-a-half-hour session costs just $10 per person.
